CECILIA COPELAND is a Midwestern, Latin-American, Israeli, Non-Princess and legal resident of Australia who chooses to live in her adopted home, New York.
She began her playwriting career after Graduating from the New York Stella Adler Studio, Conservatory Class, in 1998. She holds a Theatre BA with Honors, Emphasis in Playwriting and a Minor in Dance, from The University of Iowa, and Playwriting MFA Ohio University.

Festival of Montreal, Stage Left Productions, Dark Luna, 13th Street Rep, and Metro Screen Australiaamong others.
She’s
commissioned by The Drilling Co, Overturn Theatre Ensemble, The Pink Ribbon Project, and The Performing Arts High School.
She is the recipient of the Lennis J. Holm Playwriting Scholarship from University of Iowa for her Honors Thesis, One Woman which was produced in SWAN Day 2008.
Her work,"The Wicked Son" was named one of the Top Ten Best New Jewish Plays by the JPP, and went on to the next round where she was named one of the Top Three.
She was awarded a Special Effects Grant from Metro Screen Australia for her Screenplay, Amusement Bomber. PM Press will be Publishing her play Words of Revolutionary, and The International Center for Women Playwrights will Publish two of her short plays, Moontanner Girls and Unicorn.
Cecilia is the Founder and Artistic Director of New York Madness, a Member of the 50/50 in 2020 movement, and the Dramatists Guild of America.
